According to the National Statistics Agency, in 2019, there were 1,820,000 people with hearing impairments among the 268,100,000 population of Indonesia. Moreover, most deaf children do not have access to proper education due to language barriers. Indonesian Association for the Welfare of the Deaf (IAWD) strives to ensure that every deaf child receives more adequate access assistance in various sectors such as education, health, employment, legal matters, and various other public services.
